Inspired by six weeks spent in Cuba, Eric Abrecht’s Malecón Series concentrates on the balance between Havana and the ocean. The esplanade, known as the Malecón, runs along the northern shore of Havana. The Malecón is lined by weathered buildings with peeling paint and crumbling facades. With few resources for upkeep, time and the elements have taken their toll.
These paintings reflect the constant dance between civilization and nature. The colors are inspired by the historic architecture and ever changing sea.
These 20 x 20 in. mixed media paintings are available to view and purchase. Please contact the gallery for details.
