Born in a scenic port town of Albania, modern artist Josef Kote emerged eager to share his unique vision with the world. Kote immersed himself in the arts early on. The atmosphere around him constantly inspired the young visionary living in the metropolis of Vlore – a mélange of commercial industry and old world charm. This was the perfect backdrop for an aspiring artist talent like Kote. The city’s handsome, bright buildings and coastline provided Kote with an abundance of creative material. Kote has since lived in Greece, Toronto and New York City.
Kote’s painting origins in the Mediterranean have never truly left him; the warmth of the Grecian sunlight and the lush Mediterranean landscape are still infused in his works. Large, loose brushstrokes and gentle colors are characteristic of Kote’s welcoming seascapes and landscapes.
