What do you love most about what you do?

I just love the chance to be creative. I love getting inside my clients’ heads to figure out their likes and dislikes, their style, to better gauge the design process.

How has your design style evolved over the years?

It has evolved greatly. I started off being more attracted towards modern and contemporary design. As I’ve worked in the field, I’ve learned more about traditional and transitional design, so my appreciation for those styles has grown as well. Even though I still lean personally towards cleaner lines, as a designer I have grown in terms of my capability of executing designs from contemporary all the way to traditional.

How do you incorporate art into your designs?

The room’s design and color scheme is the first thing to come together, along with furniture selections, and then the art. The art basically ties in with the color scheme I’m doing and further elevates the room’s appearance. Once you put that beautiful painting on the wall, it’s like night and day; it really transforms the space. It pulls the room together, ties everything in.

Where would you most like to travel to?

I would love to go to the French Riviera and Monaco. I haven’t been, and for some reason I would just love to go and be near the water. It’s a beautiful, beautiful strip of land.

Favorite museum?

MOMA in New York City, because of the very modern, sleek design of the museum itself—high, white walls with striking artwork.

What colors are you loving at the moment?

I’ve always been a sucker for blue, and I always keep going back to it. I try to mix it with other colors in my designs.

Is there a certain shade you’re into?

PANTONE 3145 C.

Three things you can’t live without?

I think everyone will agree with me on this one—coffee! I need coffee. Obviously art and design. I live and breathe design—it’s in my soul. Third would be family and close friends. Because outside of work, what do we do? We go to the people we love and like spending time with.
