Insider Edit: What Rae’s Loving

Part of my role is to choose artwork to hang in the Baltimore gallery, rotating in new pieces and giving the walls a fresh look. Seeing how different artists complement and contrast each other makes me appreciate each piece even more.

Here are a few of my current favorites…

This piece feels like home. It reminds me of my many walks around the Harbor.

John Brandon Sills, Morning Shift, Oil on Canvas, 36 × 36 in.

I am obsessed with the details and craftsmanship of this painting. The porcupine looks like he could walk right out of the canvas!

Ariel Vargassal, The Intention, Acrylic on Canvas, 60 × 48 in.

I love how Audra Weaser is able to create depth on a flat surface using layers of paint. This piece is glowing with dimension!

Audra Weaser, Gold Reverie, Mixed Media on Panel, 55 × 44 in.
