Eric Abrecht focuses on landscapes, figurative and still-life, mainly with oil on canvas. He works conceptually; drawing from lifetime experiences, and allows the subject of each painting to evolve as he works on the canvas/board.
“I start with more of a rough idea than a blueprint,” he says. He encourages viewers to apply their own feelings and experiences to each piece. “I want people to connect with my work in a way that is completely different from the person standing next to them.”
His pieces offer dreamy vistas into a landscape familiar to everyone who views his paintings. Using an impressionistic style, Abrecht is able to tell various stories with his broad brushstrokes and layers of paint.
