Liz Barber Leventhal’s mixed media work Water Petals 15 builds fluid layers of blue to arrange a composition of abstracted waterscapes. Each application of paint seems to explore the various qualities of water and the Earth’s oceans — from an icy glacial basin, to tranquil, shallow turquoise gradations in pooled layers. The painting is a visceral exploration of oceanic water on Earth.
