Canadian artist Aron Hill creates playful abstract pieces that pop from the wall, choosing bold color combinations and graphic compositions. His work began as installation pieces, large format photography, and text based projects; it wasn’t until recently that he began to focus on minimalist style paintings. He finds inspiration in late Modernist work by artists such as William Perehudoff and Jack Bush, which is evident in his current style.
From the Garden is a series of acrylic paintings on canvas that are then mounted to board. The circular frame of these pieces draws your gaze in and emphasizes the movement of the geometric forms. Hill paints on raw canvas, allowing for a sense of fluidity in his colors, as well as an interesting organic texture.
