Wanderlust: Art That Moves You

Art has the power to transport us—to take us beyond the ordinary and into places filled with adventure, nostalgia, and tranquility. This collection invites you to explore the world through the eyes of our artists, where every piece sparks a new journey. Whether you’re dreaming of a Parisian café, a serene coastline, or a vibrant cityscape, these works bring the spirit of travel into your home.

World of Wander

David Burdeny, Le Consulat, Paris, France, Photograph On Paper, 35 x 30 inches

David Burdeny’s photographs transport us across continents, capturing the quiet beauty of places both familiar and far-flung. From the romantic cafés of Paris to the iconic canals of Amsterdam, the awe-inspiring wildlife of Kenya, and the tranquil waters of the South China Sea, his images distill the essence of each destination.

Le Consulat invites us into the warmth of a European afternoon, where time slows, and the world feels rich with possibility. Through Burdeny’s lens, every place tells a story—one that lingers long after the journey ends.

Seaside Escape

Eric Abrecht, Azul Horizon, Oil on Canvas, 46 x 58 inches

In Azul Horizon, tranquility unfolds in delicate layers of translucent paint, evoking the gentle sea breeze and sunlit mist. The horizon blurs where sky meets water, and hints of a rocky coastline emerge through dreamy brushstrokes. Abrecht captures not just a place, but a feeling—the hush of waves, the scent of salt in the air, the way the ocean makes time slow down. This piece invites you to drift into that peaceful rhythm, where all that matters is the ebb and flow of the tide.

City Adventure

Ben Schwab, From Beginning To End, Oil on Canvas, 37.5 x 61.5 inches

Ben Schwab channels the pulse of a city into bold geometric color, turning urban landscapes into abstract playgrounds. His vivid palette captures the anticipation of adventure—the kind you feel when stepping into a brand-new place, where every street promises something unexpected. By layering fragments of global architecture into one dynamic composition, Schwab reminds us that no matter where we roam, cities share a universal heartbeat.

Tropical Paradise

Hunt Slonem, Cataleyas Butterflys Maui, Oil on canvas, 40 x 40 inches

With Cataleyas Butterflys Maui, Hunt Slonem brings a tropical daydream to life. A fluttering kaleidoscope of butterflies hovers above lush blooms, their delicate wings painted in joyful bursts of color. The rhythmic repetition of pattern and texture feels like sunlight filtering through palm trees—warm, vibrant, and full of life. It’s a little slice of paradise, no passport required.

Mountain Getaway

Marshall Noice, Spring Gulch, Oil on Canvas, 36 x 48 inches

Marshall Noice’s Spring Gulch is a love letter to the great outdoors, where rolling hills and sun-drenched meadows stretch beneath an ever-changing sky. His saturated hues of violet, pink, and gold transform the natural world into something almost mythical—like the way a landscape feels after a long, winding hike when the air is crisp and the view takes your breath away. It’s the perfect escape for anyone craving wide-open spaces and a deep breath of mountain air.

The Gallery Pets’ Guide to Art, Part 2

We all know our pets have big personalities, but have you ever wondered about their artistic taste? We challenged our team to dream up the perfect gallery for their furry companions, and the results are as unique as their pets:

Finn

Owner: Betsy Johnston, Co-Director
Art Selection: Alexander Sheversky, Sunday Morning

Finn loves hanging around when we are eating brunch to get any scraps he can… he even likes coffee! ”

Doug

Owner: Nicholas Ramlal, Photo Editor
Art Selection: Nathalie Boissonnault, I Would Like to Get to Know You Better

“I rescued my Mini Goldendoodle, Doug, from a shelter in his later years, after he had been deemed ‘too old’ for breeding. When I brought him home as my first dog, he was cautious and a little overwhelmed—timid, curious, and unsure of his new surroundings. But with patience, care, and plenty of love, he’s truly come into his own. Similar to the artwork, Doug is a happy, playful companion who’s always ready for an adventure or a relaxing evening in, as long as he’s given an invitation to be included.”

Mister Pocket

Owner: Chelsea Little, Art Consultant
Art Selection: Matt Devine, Gold Rush

“Mister Pocket’s name comes from “The Ballad of Buster Scruggs”, wherein a gold miner is referring to finding ‘a pocket of gold’. We’d like to think we struck gold with this handsome, fluffy golden/orange ball of energy. He would probably be very drawn to Matt Devine’s Gold Rush 2, as it both emulates his personality and could be great fun to climb on (although we wouldn’t seriously recommend that).

Violet

Owner: Patti Gregory, Art Consultant
Art Selection: Ariel Vargassel, Insatiable

“Violet came to us from Brandywine Vet as a stray. She is so sweet the veterinarian named her Honey but when we met her she became Violet. She is the flippy-floppy girl with a clownish personality, She chose Ariel Vargassel’s painting Insatiable. Violet is a stylish girl, and would like the gentleman’s suit in the painting and also the pink donuts.”

Moose

Owner: Ofri Shmul, Art Consultant
Art Selection: Hunt Slonem, Moose

“Moose would choose Hunt Slonem’s Moose because it captures her playful, curious nature. The vibrant colors and lively energy in the painting reflect her own zest for life, while the connection to her name makes it feel like the perfect expression of her unique personality.”

A Valentine’s Vision: Love Through Art

Love has long been a muse for artists, captured in sweeping brushstrokes, sculpted in tender forms, and woven into the very fabric of creative expression. Whether expressed through the quiet intimacy of an embrace, the fiery bloom of passion, or the playful lightness of romance, art has a way of making love tangible. This Valentine’s Day, love is in the air—and on the canvas—as these pieces from our gallery invite us to see, feel, and celebrate the many shades of affection.

Joseph Adolphe, Nocturn No. 6, Oil on Canvas, 70 x 80 inches

Adolphe’s Nocturne No. 6’s feels almost alive, with rich velvety hues and its petals unfurling with the intensity of a love that cannot be contained. Loose, expressive brushstrokes blur its edges, as if passion itself is radiating beyond its form, spilling into the darkness. The contrast between light and shadow mirrors the depth of romance—bold, fleeting, and unforgettable—making this piece a perfect reflection of romance.

JD Hansen, Spiegel Im Spiegel, Bronze, 35 x 21 x 11 inches

Two figures melt into one another, their elongated forms entwined in a moment of quiet intimacy. The rough texture of JD Hanson’s bronze gives the piece an organic, timeworn quality—love shaped not just by passion, but by patience. Their faceless forms invite us to see our own selves within them, a universal symbol of devotion, connection, and the unspoken understanding that binds two souls together.

Nathalie Boissonnault, Le Messager, Mixed Media on Canvas, 50.5 x 37.5 inches

Love is both delicate and enduring, much like the origami rabbit, its form carefully folded from aged book pages. The printed words, now abstract, hint at stories untold, relationships shaped by shared moments and whispered confessions. A bright red heart balloon floats above, its glossy surface a playful contrast to the paper’s quiet history—a reminder that love is at once weightless and profound, a mix of nostalgia and boundless possibility.

The Gallery Pets’ Guide to Art

As every animal lover knows, our furry companions have their own distinctive personalities, complete with unique preferences and quirks. Inspired by this, we asked our team to imagine their pets’ refined taste in art and the paintings they’d choose to adorn their dream collections. Here’s what they shared:

Poppy & Pinto

Owner: Natalie Bobb, Gallery Manager

Art Selection: Rose Masterpol, Camo-flauge and XOX

“Bonded brothers, Poppy and Pinto, are both house cats, yet couldn’t be more different. Poppy is mysterious and sneaky, his concealed maneuvers best represented by Rose Masterpol’s Camo-flauge, which offers a similar technical flow and intrigue. Pinto, on the other hand, is vocal and fully available. XOX by Masterpol captures that same animated spirit, welcoming you in with expressive color and hugs and kisses.”

Jack

Owner: Chelsea Little, Art Consultant

Art Selection: Randal Ford, Swiss Valais Blacknose Lamb No. 2

“Jack’s absolute favorite toy is his Lambchop—of which he has three. We’ve tried giving him many other toys, but the same enthusiasm is simply not there! So, I think he would absolutely adore this cuddly Swiss Valais Blacknose Lamb No. 2 by photographer Randal Ford, if not go crazy with happiness over it.”

Daphne

Owner: Mollie Mayer, Gallery Assistant

Art Selection: Hyunmee Lee, Variation

“Daphne would resonate with Hyunmee Lee’s work because it is calm and calculated, yet unpredictable at the same time. She would probably prefer a Dylan Martinez piece, just so she could try to scratch her chin with a glass goldfish bag and then push it off the table. But Variation captures her it-girl vibes and her distanced affection style pretty perfectly.”

Suki

Owner: Taylor S. Payne, Registrar

Art Selection: Nathalie Boissonnault, Fair Un Bout De Chemin Ensemble

“As soon as you walk through the door of our apartment you meet Suki first; she will bark, being part protector, then instantly require all of your attention and love, being predominantly a needy goofball. With a love for play, fetch, and zoomies, it was clear how Suki would be drawn to art with a playful side. At first her energy drew us towards colorful abstractions, and bold pieces like Goldhammer. But beyond her joyful energy at her heart Suki is a lover, who just wants to spend time with her favorite people. This really called to Nathalie Boissonnault and the playful quality of her pieces that bring out that feeling of love and companionship.”
